Alan & Jenny Simpson Patty McKibbin recently sold our house and we would like to share our story with you. Initially our house was listed with a large, well known Real Estate Company for six weeks. The Agent had confidently stated that our property would "sell within the week, without any advertising or signboards" as the Agency had registered buyers on their list looking for a property just like ours. We felt relieved at this news, as we had wanted a quick sale without a fuss. After the second week we were troubled by the way things were progressing. The Agency had taken ten days before they finally managed to correct their mistakes with the house description and photographs placed on the Internet. To make matters worse we were the ones who had noticed their mistakes. The Agent's explanation for this was that their Agency was "large, with many listings - so that from time to time things like this do happen". However, the most disappointing issue for us was the lack of interaction from the Agent. We knew we had to be careful when choosing our next Agent (after the Sold Agency had expired). Along came Patty McKibbin who was like a breath of fresh air - Patty's demeanor had a calming influence on us - she suggested we leave everything in her hands (and we are grateful that we did). It was obvious to us that Patty and her team had devised and followed a high standard of systems and procedures. These plainly work as I can honestly say that my husband and I could not fault anything! The photographs and property description were prepared without a hitch - we were even asked to choose which photo we wanted for the brochure, which was loaded onto the net the next day. Without fail we received a text message for open inspection times well in advance. What really impressed us was that we would receive a text from Patty after each open inspection stating how many groups had attended (easing our anxiety level). Patty always followed up with a telephone call later that day and once a week she visited our home while we read her feedback report on the open inspections. The knowledge that Patty was committed to achieving a positive outcome for us helped us cope on Auction day. Although our house didn't sell "under the hammer", Patty and her team negotiated with those who had shown interest in our property that morning and afternoon. This resulted in four offers being written up and presented to us in the evening.
